INFO + POLICIES

  • All orders are shipped via USPS with tracking and insurance.

You will be sent tracking information when your order is shipped. Ready-to-ship items are shipped within 3-5 business days unless otherwise advised.

International shipping: At this time, we are unable to offer international shipping. Shipping is only available in the United States.

We take great efforts to package our wares so they arrive to you undamaged and have a low rate of orders arriving damaged. Should your package arrive damaged, please see the section entitled “Damaged Items” below for instructions on how to proceed.

  • If you are able to pickup your order in person from our studio in South Miami, FL (zip code 33143), you can opt for the Store Pickup option at checkout.

If you choose the Store Pickup option, we will email you in order to schedule a Pickup Appointment.

Please note that pickups must be scheduled with an appointment.

  • We want you to be happy with your pottery. If you are unhappy with your pieces and would like to return items for refund, please email your return request within 3 days of order delivery and we’ll send guidance on the return process.

IMPORTANT: Items must be returned to us within 30 days of order delivery. We are unable to process any refunds if items have not been returned to us within 30 days. We cannot issue a refund for used items or items that return to us damaged. We strongly encourage you to insure the return package and get tracking.

A refund for the full cost of returned items minus the initial shipping cost will be issued upon receipt of the return package pending items being unused, undamaged, and in new condition.

Customer is responsible for the return shipping cost.

If you are concerned about your packing skills, take the item(s) to a carrier and have them do the packaging.

    ALL SECONDS ARE FINAL SALE.

  • Items are:

MICROWAVE SAFE, FOOD SAFE, AND DISHWASHER SAFE*

    Dishwashing Note

Items are dishwasher safe. That said, handwashing is less harsh and will support longevity of the piece.

When loading items in the dishwasher, load sensibly and securely. Make sure mugs are loaded so that handles won’t be knocking against other items during the cycle.

Over time, you may notice scratches from silverware on your pottery. These can be removed with a cleaning product such as Bon Ami or Bar Keepers Friend. Create a paste with the powder and, with a wash cloth, rub in circles over the scratches.

  • We do not currently offer wholesale or consignment. Please check back in 2024 as we hope to open our books for wholesale partnerships.

  • Our glazes are food-safe.

We currently use commercially prepared glazes but hope to introduce some new, house-made glazes to our offerings in 2024.

We’re just at the beginning of our glaze-making journey!

  • All items are hand-crafted whether they are made using the jigger, are wheel-thrown, or are hand-built. Most pieces are glazed by dipping.

The process by which these items are created means there will be variations in dimensions, weights, shapes, and glaze presentation. No two pieces will be exactly alike. The subtle differences between pieces are one of the unique joys of handcrafted ceramics!

  • In an effort to reduce our waste and make pots available at a lower price, we occasionally make seconds pieces available for purchase.

Seconds are pieces that are flawed but functional; they are offered at a discounted price. These pieces are FINAL SALE ONLY.

Seconds are functional and food safe.

    Flaws may include:

    * warpage (out of round)

    * small cracks on the foot or chips in the footring

    * glaze flaws

    * surface effects on unglazed surfaces

  • While we’ve not completely eliminated plastic from our packing and shipping process, the majority of our shipping materials are made of renewable/recyclable/compostable materials and most are paper-based.

We use Gaemi wrap to individually wrap items. Gaemi wrap is SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) certified, biodegradable, compostable, and recyclable.

We use fluted cardboard to wrap items for extra protection and brown kraft paper.

Items are shipped in unwaxed cardboard boxes, or boxes we are reusing. We use water-activated tape to seal boxes.

We encourage you to reuse the packing materials your order arrives in.

  • We hope for you to be happy with your purchase and your experience with Golden Ratio Clay Works. If for some reason you are not, please contact us so we can work cooperatively to resolve the issue. We center cooperation, respect, and kindness in our interactions with customers and hope you will show us the same.

  • Please check your package thoroughly and promptly upon delivery.

In the unlikely event that any part of your order arrives damaged, please email us and we will work together to resolve the issue.

IMPORTANT: Please send requests regarding damaged items within 3 days of order delivery. Photographs are required for refund requests - we will be unable to file an insurance claim without photographs. We cannot honor requests that do not include clear photographs of the damaged pieces and the box the order arrived in. We ask that you hold on to your damaged items and the packaging until we have resolved and processed the request.

In your email, please include photos of the damaged item(s) AND the box. Ensure photographs are clear and in focus.

Below we have included example photos.
