We don’t want to waste perfectly good albeit flawed pots - we want to honor the time and resources it took to make them, so we offer these seconds at a significant discount. Flaws may include: warping (out of round), bowing, cracks on the bottom or handle attachment joints, and glaze flaws or surface irregularities. The most common flaw is warping; a small roundness imperfection is normal including for firsts, however if the warping is to a more extensive degree, the pot is sold as a second with a discount.
